Feeding an obsession
Not the best picture, I know. Just wanted to show off his cute new shirt the babysitter gave him, and his blue's clues books that Em gave him as well. I swear, they're trying to feed his addiction or something!
For the record, he started singing the blue's clues song, sat down in his 'thinking' chair, welded his book like a handy dandy notebook, and tapped his head as he sat down to 'think, think, think"
He's so hooked!

Dear Colby
Dear Colby,
This past month you turned two years old. I cannot believe it. It feels like you should be so much younger. I still remember how it felt to be pregnant with you, to feel your little kicks and the hiccups. Sometimes when I look at you, I can’t believe its my same little baby.
You have grown into such a joy to have around. You make dad and me laugh every day. Its like you are a comedian, and you never ever run out of new material. This morning as we were getting ready to leave, I asked you to put your cup in your backpack so we could go to the babysitters. You looked around shouting “Cup? Where are you?” and then you walked back to me empty handed. When I asked you where the cup was you shrugged your shoulders and said “All gone.” When I pointed out the cup to you on the floor ten feet away, your face lit up like you were seeing a long-lost friend and you exclaimed “Cup!”
This past month, especially, you have turned into such a big boy. You moved out of your crib. We were so afraid that it would be a hard transition, but like always you took the transition with ease, now adoring your “Oy Bed!” (Big boy bed) You’re still not talking that well, but I still say you’re incredibly smart. You know half the alphabet by sight and can count to eight. When we’re out driving you’ll start shouting “esssss” and I’m trying to guess what you’re saying, is it Yes or bus or or or… and I see you pointing out the window to an “S” on the sign. You love to read, and our house is covered with scattered books from your reading times.
I think my absolute favorite part about you, Colby, is your joyfulness. You are such a happy child. You are ALWAYS dancing and singing. Your favorite songs to sing are ABC’s, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, If all the Raindrops, Itsy Bitsy Spider, and I am a Child of God. Whenever we are out driving, you and I are singing at the top of our lungs. People may give me weird looks, but I don’t care. I’m enjoying my time with my sweet little boy, because I know it won’t last.
I love you buddy.

The Best Part
I spent last Saturday doing photography for a family. I instructed Colby and Daddy to wander around until I was done. Once I finished, I found Colby. he started running, so I got down with my camera and snapped away. I would've kept going, but I was being bull-dozed. :) This is the best part of my day, to have a sweet two-year-old rushing into my arms at the end of it all.

Popsicles with Papa
I love this. Papa Smith has a never-ending supply of otter pops (pop-icles, to colbs) and will share as many as you want. Here's all the grandkids (minus a newborn) with papa, eating popsicles.

Just like Mommy
We've already discovered that Colbs is just like daddy, but sure enough he's been paying attention to mommy too. Little boy loves a good camera, maybe a bit too much! I always discover pictures on my Nikon that I didn't take... Here he is playing with my Kodak, aka "the one mommy won't have a heart attack if we break"

At Mommy's work!
Mommy's work is 100% boy toys, with big trucks and forklifts. So of course, Colby hated it. He was scared of everything!
