At the zoo

Colby was navigator at the zoo for about three seconds, which he loved! I thought these were so cute, he kept pulling it closer and further away, trying to 'read' it even better. I got a good laugh out of my quirky son.

Slippers

Colby was pretty upset this morning. After I got him dressed and put his shoes on to go to grandma's, he happened to notice his slippers.

Colby: "I want my slippers!"
Mom: "Sorry honey, you're already wearing your shoes. Lets go to Grandma's now, ok?"
Colby sat and thought for a minute, then pulled the slippers over his hands.
Colby: "Ok, I'm ready!"

Unfortunately, its hard to drink out of a cup with slippers on your hand, so they didn't last long.

Bubble Boy

The little dude found a bubble machine, and much joy and happiness ensued. What a fun time!

Today's pics

These pics are right before my show last night. The kids were totally excited... for about three minutes. By the end of it, Grant had fire coming out of his ears from trying to keep the Colbs quiet.

This Morning...

Colbs: "Hey mom!"
Me: "What bud?"
Colbs: "Its circle!"

So it is, so it is. He's so proud of himself.

Happy Boy Update

I just thought I'd take this opportunity to update about Colby's overall progress, since I've been such a slacker lately!

Colby is now almost 31 months.
He is talking up a storm, and we can understand him a little more than half the time.
He has recently been introduced to Toy Story, and loves it! He runs around the house shouting "Buzz to the rescue!"
He knows all his letters (uppercase) and much to my surprise, can identify them upside-down, turned, etc
He can count to eleven.
He knows all the basic shapes, with some random ones thrown in there (octagon, for example)
The kid refuses to learn his colors.
He has used the bathroom exactly five times, all without entirely intending to. We're still pretty far away from potty training.
He rarely takes baths anymore, he much prefers showers.
He's still pretty shy, except around animals. He loves petting and feeding horses.
He loves TV, and will watch ANYTHING.
He will never sleep in our bed. Even when he's sick, hurting, or sad, he still sees it as a plaything.
He is pretty capable of running Daddy's puter, and does things to it that even Grant is stumped about.
He loves to brush his teeth. He'll slyly go get his toothbrush and brush without us knowing.
He has a unquenchable desire to wash his hands 24/7.
He has decided he hates taking the time to eat. We have to trick him into his booster seat every time.
He's picking up on random sports at his babysitter's house, he loves soccer and basketball, and recently learned to hit a ball with a bat. I was shocked!
And the kid backtalks without saying a word. Drives me nuts.

Overall though, we just love him to pieces. He's got such a cute personality, a sweet disposition, and he really is such a well-behaved child. I'm glad he's mine. :)

Water Table

A few weeks ago, back when it was warm and dry instead of snowing and slick, we pulled Colby's new water table out. Why they don't just call it an elevated swimming pool, I'll have no idea. He might as well have been swimming, with as soaked as he got. But he loved it!

Like Daddy, Like Son

We're getting him started on his Utah reds early! He loves his hat, and will often fight Grant for his. Go Utes!

Cell phone pics

I just got a new cell phone, and one of the hardest things about the switch is not having all my pictures from my old cell phone so close. I love to browse, see my little baby become a funny and adorable little boy. So without further ado, I'm sharing them! :)

Easter at Colby's house, aka Who's that Grump?

The Easter Bunny came!!! Where's Colby, with his happy smiles and excited laugh???


Oh you mean this ray of sunshine? I'd like to introduce you to my 2 yr old teenager, Mr Grump. Easter Bunny can wait, apparently.

In an effort to pull him out of bed, we turn on the lights and leave his Easter basket in there, hoping he'll get the idea. Ten minutes later I walked in on this dude.

Finally I persuaded this guy out with the promise of candy, money, and maybe some Blue's Clues. I love this age- they'll believe anything!

Colby's no stranger to Easter egg hunts, this is his third this yr already.

I think this is right where he realized there was money in those eggs. There's that smile I'm looking for.

He's so proud of his loot. LOL

Fun with James'

Colby got to spend the day over at James' house today. He's been having all sorts of fun. He even made his first froot loop necklace. How cute are these boys???
