Pretty much...

He's pretty much the cutest boy, in color or black & white. This was taking a break between cutting heart shaped cookie dough and decorating some yummy cookies.

A favorite feature

This is a few months old but I love it. He's so expressive, especially with his scowls and dirty looks.

Potty Training...

This is how we feel about potty training right now...

Yeah, I don't think its happening any time soon. This is the ONLY way he'll wear those underwear.

Proof...

This is proof we spend too much time on the computer, in front of our son.

He also knows how to copy & paste, check his facebook, and reply to any emails.

Ok, not really on the facebook thing. ;)

Hat

My son hates wearing hats. This really depresses me, he has SO many cute ones! I've tried tricking him. Tried finding ones he'd like. Nothing was working. Finally, I used my number 1 mommy skill, manipulation. I told him he couldn't go to his friend's house if he didn't wear his hat out in the cold. It worked! Also, I think it helped when his friend Mason told him it was cool. He wouldn't take his hat off all day.

Here's my little cutie.

Flowers

Daddy got me some flowers. I love photographing them. I love smelling them...

but even more, I love the little boy who's smelling them right along side me. :)

New Years!

We had a kids friendly new years party. Unfortunately

(or maybe fortunately!) most the kiddos were asleep as the clock struck midnight.

Miss K was the only one awake...

The three boys were completely passed out from all that hard partying.

(Cooper, Colby's Cousin)

(James, BFF)

The Colbster himself, with the oh-so-beloved and oh-so-fragrant blankie.

Happy New Years, All!

Making Cookies for Santa!

And for the record, NO I did not do homemade. Sue me. :)

He put all the cookies on the cookie sheet.
Smiling for the camera, he really loved it!

He scooped them off the cookie sheet, didn't even burn himself!

He was so careful, putting them on the cooling racks.

Pudgy little fingers. Awww

So proud of himself, look at my big boy!

In his Christmas jammies, waiting to fill up the plate!

Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas tree

Last week we put up our Christmas tree, making it fully childproof as usual. (Bells instead of balls, bows instead of glass). It was completely unnecessary, he is very respectful and didn't even touch it! Now if we can only keep our cats away from it...

Car Seat

This was Colby when he first got his carseat, all of 6 months old.
I loved this seat, powder blue with sports. Best brand, so soft and comfy.

I kept him rear-facing longer than a year, just for the added safety. Plus it allowed him to taste his shoe-laces more often.

Taken last month.

Taken this past weekend. His carseat was on the other side of that door.
Empty. But now covered in broken glass.
A huge streetlight pole came right for his door.
I shudder to think about what would have happened if this precious boy was in there.
But we're all safe. Thats the important part.

Feeding an obsession

Not the best picture, I know. Just wanted to show off his cute new shirt the babysitter gave him, and his blue's clues books that Em gave him as well. I swear, they're trying to feed his addiction or something!

For the record, he started singing the blue's clues song, sat down in his 'thinking' chair, welded his book like a handy dandy notebook, and tapped his head as he sat down to 'think, think, think"

He's so hooked!

Dear Colby

Dear Colby,

This past month you turned two years old. I cannot believe it. It feels like you should be so much younger. I still remember how it felt to be pregnant with you, to feel your little kicks and the hiccups. Sometimes when I look at you, I can’t believe its my same little baby.

You have grown into such a joy to have around. You make dad and me laugh every day. Its like you are a comedian, and you never ever run out of new material. This morning as we were getting ready to leave, I asked you to put your cup in your backpack so we could go to the babysitters. You looked around shouting “Cup? Where are you?” and then you walked back to me empty handed. When I asked you where the cup was you shrugged your shoulders and said “All gone.” When I pointed out the cup to you on the floor ten feet away, your face lit up like you were seeing a long-lost friend and you exclaimed “Cup!”

This past month, especially, you have turned into such a big boy. You moved out of your crib. We were so afraid that it would be a hard transition, but like always you took the transition with ease, now adoring your “Oy Bed!” (Big boy bed) You’re still not talking that well, but I still say you’re incredibly smart. You know half the alphabet by sight and can count to eight. When we’re out driving you’ll start shouting “esssss” and I’m trying to guess what you’re saying, is it Yes or bus or or or… and I see you pointing out the window to an “S” on the sign. You love to read, and our house is covered with scattered books from your reading times.

I think my absolute favorite part about you, Colby, is your joyfulness. You are such a happy child. You are ALWAYS dancing and singing. Your favorite songs to sing are ABC’s, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, If all the Raindrops, Itsy Bitsy Spider, and I am a Child of God. Whenever we are out driving, you and I are singing at the top of our lungs. People may give me weird looks, but I don’t care. I’m enjoying my time with my sweet little boy, because I know it won’t last.

I love you buddy.

Mama

Getting ready!

Here's Colby as we were decorating for Halloween. Have fun tonight, I know we will!
