Home Bodies

Yesterday morning I got the opportunity to spend some alone time with Colby. We stayed in jammies, watched Barney, and blew bubbles. It was such an awesome morning, I love spending time with my little dude.

Here we are cuddling on the couch. So much fun!

Apparently this is the best way to watch Barney. It cracks me up, he does this but is afraid of the bath tub.

Cute smiley boy!

Rosetta stone, or in other words, what in the heck did he just say?

Jew, jews: a drink, cup, milk, juice
Mom(mah-om with a whiny sound): Mom
A-ma, A-ma-ma-ma (No whine, very chipper and excited): Grandma
Keeeeee sdkdfgjkdfgkdfgkokjdgfkjdg -y : Kitty
Dis : This
Dat: That
ah: Dog, usually while trying to run across the street to chase them down
Da!Da! : Dad. Notice no whining here either.
Bwoooo: Moo, aka cow. Sounds nothing like moo, but apparently it does to him!
Ah! Ah! Ah! (usually accompanied by running to the computer): This means turn on starfall.com and replay the 'short A' song 17 times until you want to shoot yourself.
Swih. Shoo. Ti. Ba. Ba. : Got me. Your guess is as good as mine. But he says them ALL the time. And then giggles. Like "I'm so cool. I'm confusing my parents, and its fun!"

Having a toddler is so great, isn't it?

Kazooooooooo

True story here.

We bought Colby a kazoo.

Colby figured it out before Daddy did.

Mommy laughs, a lot.

(P.S. doesn't he look just like mommy here? Or is that just me?)

My First Valentine's Party!

At this very moment, Colby is attending his first Valentine's Day party. His pre-school/daycare is hosting it. I made him all cute with spiky hair and a bright red shirt. His little valentines are so cute. They're Crayola ones to color, and we taped a sucker and a crayon to it. He loves them... but I'm pretty sure its just because he wants the suckers. LOL.

First Haircut

Colby had his first haircut on february 2nd. His aunt Emilee is a hair stylist, so we went to her salon. He just loves her, which helped the haircut process, I'm sure.

He did so well. He didn't mind the clippers or the scissors. In fact, he just wanted to see what was going on.

The handsome boy

My kid is... special.

Sure, your kid can talk. Run. Jump. Recite the alphabet.

Mine can eat his own shoelaces.

Booyah.

Its time...

Tonight we were out to dinner at Five Guys (super yummy, by the way!) and having a grand ol' time. Colby was flirting with patrons and employees equally. One of the employees struck up a conversation with us, mentioning how much "she" (aka Colby) loved his (aka weird, sucks-at-gender-guessing employee) broom.

*Shock*
My little boy does not look like a girl. Sure, his hair is getting long, but he looks like a toddler, not a female. Colby was dressed in an orange and white shirt with jean overalls with frickin sports on them.

A pic of the hair. NOT THAT BAD. Its cute! Its sweet! Its soft!

P.S. *sigh* There will be "first haircut" pictures on Monday night after our appointment. Stay tuned.

I love Daddy, he loves me...

Colby and Daddy have a special bond. They are always so thrilled to see each other. This makes me so happy!

Starfall

Ok you'll probably have to turn your volume way up to hear this. (Cell phone videos don't have great sound.) Anyways, Colby loves a program called Starfall and would be on it all day if we'd let him. His favorite is the 'short A sound' song. I think its so adorable when he sings along!

Just Like Daddy

All Fall Down!

Colby's new favorite game is Ring Around the Rosy. He'll let go right before "All Fall Down!" and plop on his little bum and clap and laugh. Then he'll stand up, reach over and grab your hands, trying to pull you back up for one more time. Have you ever played that with a 1 yr old? Your back starts hurting from reaching down so far. So after about seven times in a row, you just say no. Go play. So little boy decides to play it by himself.

Those "all fall down!" plops are completely intentional, I'm sure. (Ok not really, but it makes me giggle!)

All Six Boys

Getting 6 boys to sit for one picture is quite the feat! Here is Colby and his 5 cousins on the "P family" side, aged 6, 4, 1, 1, 1, and 7 months. To see all of them play is so funny. They pretty much ignore each other, until they see another playing with a cool toy, and then they just all flock together. They spend every other Sunday together, and have the makings of friends forever. I really do hope it stays like that!
P.S. ... we need girls.

Our Evenings Together...

Daddy loves making Colbs giggle. This is one of their favorite games ever!

Babysitters

Colby's babysitter shared a bunch of pictures with me... this is my favorite. Lil Dude loves his vacuums, thats for sure. We have to barricade him out of any room we need to vacuum, because he'll get so excited and chase it. So this pic totally makes me laugh. Thanks Melissa!

Waiting up for Santa.
The moment he saw the loot, he grinned and started running.

Santa's offerings.

He plopped down and just started playing with everything.

We helped him up on the slide, he was a bit afraid to try it on his own.
But he loved it.

Look! More toys!
Stocking...

He loves his telephones. "hew-o!"

Standing Amidst the mess

Merry Be-lated Christmas, all!
