Brave Little Boy

On Easter (yes, I still have not updated it completely. Slacker mom.) we went to see the horses in a nearby farm. My little boy was so brave, after just a few seconds of shyness he jumped right in and started feeding them! I'm even a wimp and was standing back. But he loved it and was sad when we ran out of vegetables and grass.

Big shoes

Colbs, while drinking his sippy cup this morning, decided to play in daddy's shoes.
All I can say? Those are sure some big shoes to fill.

See, Daddy's been working full time, and has taken FIVE classes this semester. He's serving in a demanding calling, all the while being an attentive husband and a loving father. He's juggling so much and he's just so wonderful. Some little boys don't have a great fatherly role model, and some do. And son, I think you have the best.

The Hunt

Gearing up for the hunt... or mommy showing off his new outfit. You decide.
The Easter Bunny made these eggs really difficult to find...

But our competitor was up to the challenge.

And loved every second of it.

What a cutie.

Easter Bunny Basket!

Who knew that one little boy could be so spoiled? I need to talk to this Easter Bunny, pronto.
That's my boy. Reaching for the book first!

A small little smile as he saw his new whacking sticks... I mean golf clubs. The kitties are now afraid of our little tiger woods.

Another problem with the Easter Bunny, he brought peeps, the sickly sweet grossness goo candy. Look at Colby's face... disgust mixed with a bit of sugar high.

And this is what he looked like coming down from his sugar high.

Its a poll!

Ok, to your right you'll see a poll. One of Colby's grandma and grandpas seem to recognize a little bit of Grandpa in Colby. I can see how it might be there... what do you think?

Funny face

I love this little face he makes. Its hard to get it on camera, because it is so fleeting. Whenever I put in his favorite Baby Einstein movie, he makes this excited surprised face like "Oh my gosh, could it be??? Baby Einstein???"

Saturday Conference

I love Conference weekend! Staying in jammies all day, spending so much time with my family, its a great time! I get a lot of time to take pictures. :)

Colby peeking over the couch!

Love this picture! The scrunched up nose and little smile ... perfection.

Short Stuff

Colby's a shortie. (and I have nooooo idea where he gets it from. Not one. Anyways...) We moved his bear stepstool to his reading chair and he loves to climb up and read.

Easter Party...

One of the things I love most about my son's babysitter is that she also teaches pre-school, so once a week Colby gets to go to pre-school despite his young age. This week, it was an Easter party! They dyed eggs and made crafts.

Colby kept mistaking his egg for a ball, he wanted to throw it.

When I offered to let him eat it, he ran to his highchair. I put him in it, and he immediately tried to taste the egg, shell and all. LOL.

But once it was peeled, he loved it!

Tried to get a picture of him with his craft... that didn't go well, of course. He hates hats. Sadly, this is the best I could capture...

I do, however, have tons of pictures that look like this:

Hot Box Kid

I brought home this box from Costco, full of our groceries, and then placed it in the recycling to go outside. Apparently, Colby had other plans for it. Colby's new word? Box. Its the coolest place to drink from a sippy cup. Can't throw it out now, he'd probably have a fit.

Hey Puddin'

Cookin With Colby
Today, Chef Colby is going to show you how to make one of his favorite treats, Vanilla pudding!
Get a lot of milk. Let daddy pour it into the measuring cup, but insist upon dumping it into the bowl!
Needs more milk!

Yup, that should be enough!

Hold the box while daddy opens it...

Dump into the bowl. Look at the powdery stuff disgusted. Thats not pudding!

Commandeer daddy's whisk, so he has to get another. Mix well. And by mix, I mean try to dump it all out onto the counters.

Keep mixing. Starting to look yummy!

Mmm pudding.

Try to use the whisk as a spoon! So delicious!
