Happy Halloween, 2011

Colby wanted to dress up like Luigi this year, so I decided to do a matchy theme. Colby absolutely loved every minute of the holiday, and Parker? Well... at least he kept his hat on most the day. Thats all I could really ask of him. Happy Halloween 2011!

Ghostie

I'm so glad that Parker reads my blog! A LONG time ago, I posted pictures of Colby's hatred of this ghost towel. So rather than risk a naked bum picture on the internet, he decided to be more cooperative and just take the picture. So here's our little ghostie after his bath tonight.
Yes, my little guy turns seven shades of blue after every bath. Cardiologist isn't worried, he's just a little guy. Although, check out this pic! He's starting to get the Man-boobs. If you click on the picture, it'll be bigger and you can even see the start of one of his scars.
Man I love this kid!

Pumpkin Patch!

We went to the Pumpkin patch with Grandma and Papa Mitchell, along with Jake, Jason, and his girlfriend Idaho (Jess)

Colby fit into the wheelbarrow!

All those pumpkins!

I don't think I held Parker at all that day.

He took an instant liking to Idaho (Jess).

And Heather's gorgeous daughter, "A" (don't want to spread that all over the net without Mom's permission )

After Pumpkins, only Parker fit into the wheel barrow anymore.

Colby couldn't even push it!

Cute little A!

"Uncle Chicken Butt" at his finest. And Parker-Bean cuddling with Idaho.

He thought they were so cool!

My boys started drumming on them.

Then we went to a nearby Halloween carnival.

Jason wanted to get Parker's face painted, a little skeleton!

Colby played a few games.

Parker just loves his uncle. So cute! (P.S.... notice the left hand he's using? There's still hope for him!)

I know I know

More pictures of bathtime! I know it seems like I need more material, but these just are so stinkin' cute! I plopped both the boys in the tub together, and after washing Parker went to get him dressed in pajamas. I set him on the floor then went to grab Colby a towel. Parker made a beeline for the bath tub again to play more with Colbs. He loves crawling and loves that he can go anywhere now. I think my favorite though is Colby's immediate reaction when he discovers Parker has come back to play. Can that face be ANY cuter?

Birthday Boy!

Dear Colby,

Today you turned four years old. What can I say, I'm shocked! It is so hard to remember life without you! Even to remember you as a baby... so difficult. Colby, I am so lucky to have you! Every single day you make me smile. You're so sweet and loving. You make me realize that there are some people who are just inherently good. Other kids your age seem to be like little demons, destroying everything. I am so glad that you're not like that at all. You are such an amazing boy, and an awesome brother. You love to lay on the floor and giggle with him. I am so thrilled that Parker has such a good example.

Its amazing how you're already so determined in your ways. You have a very clear conscience of right and wrong, and get so upset when other people don't follow that. If a lot of kids are told to clean up, you get absolutely furious when they don't obey. You try to take toys away from them and put them away.

You also love to talk, even though you do it very slowly and not always clearly. You love to tell stories- sometimes it will take you nearly 5 minutes to spit it out. But you want to be heard and acknowledged. I love this about you Colby. You will NOT let people pass you by. You want them to know that you're important too. I hope that you will always stand up for yourself, and not let anyone push you around.

I think the biggest thing that has happened this year was your interests. This time last year, you seemed like a little toddler. You liked Barney and Elmo. And while you still enjoy that, you've discovered how cool other things are! You LOVE the wii, your favorite game is Mario Kart. You always have to be Luigi. You like sword fighting, especially with Dad. You think Superman and Spiderman are the coolest. You have become a whiz at Grandma's Ipad. You love to play board games and do puzzles with us. You are just so much fun to be around.

Colby, most of all I want to let you know I love you. Sometimes it really seems like I'm always yelling or nagging at you to do the right thing. But you are my sweetheart. I love when you wake up earlier than me, because you sneak into my room and cuddle with me until I wake up. I look forward to spending time with you. You say the funniest things and are always try to make us laugh.

I love your kisses. Your smiles. Your laughs.

Thanks for coming into my life four years ago. They've been pretty amazing years!

Love, Mommy

Colby's Birthday Party!

Colby turns four on Monday, so I decided to do his first Friends-Only birthday party. It was a huge under-taking, but he LOVED it! He was in heaven! It made all the hard work worthwhile to see his happy face. We decided on a superhero theme, but wanted it non-specific. I didn't want it to look like an ad for the new Batman movie or anything. So we went for an old-timer classic superhero comic book look. Without further ado, Colb's Superhero birthday party!

First we busted out the Pizza and drinks.
Photobucket
All the kids loved the blowers. This is Colby and Mattix, one of his good friends.
Photobucket
After food, we decided to test their superhero powers! After we gave them their magic superhero cape, they had to show super strength! This was such a heavy dumbbell! :)
Photobucket

Then we had to check their speed, to make sure they were faster than a speeding bullet! Here they are all lined up, ready to run!
Photobucket
Next we checked their fighting abilities. These were against their "bad guy balloons". Each kid had to hit or kick them shouting things like "Pow!" "Splat!" "Bam!" "Biff!" "Bang!" etc.
Photobucket
Craig was an awesome fighter!
Photobucket
After they proved their abilities, we set them loose on all the bad guys to destroy them. They sufficiently popped... er... destroyed all the bad guys.
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
Then they put their fighting abilities to the test, to destroy the pinata. Isn't that pinata pretty cool? Grant put a lot of time into that thing! LOL
Photobucket
Go Mason Go!
Photobucket
Present time! He loved them all! One of the children wanted to play "heavy heavy hang over" so Colby's head got whacked. All in good fun :)
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
Then we designed their own superheros. The kids were thrilled to discover that they stuck really well to the backdrop!
Photobucket
Cupcakes! Yum!
Photobucket
My little guy is almost four! Where has the time gone?!?!?!
Photobucket
Melissa wanting to get in on the superhero business! She makes a pretty cute one, don't you think?
Photobucket
My chill guy, enjoying his ice cream and cake!
Photobucket
Buds!
Photobucket
Ok group shot!
Photobucket
Now fly!
Photobucket
Good job!
Photobucket
Superman fist!
Photobucket
Yeah!
Photobucket

All in all, he had a super birthday party, loved it all!
