New Floors

The past week we've been working on new flooring in our kitchen/dining area. We did the majority of the work on Memorial Day, which was difficult because Colby was not very happy. And these are the only two smiles he cracked ALL day. He was a grump!

My 20+ lb Turkey

Well, my son has passed the 20 pound mark. My back is killing me! He is still as cuddly as ever. You know how labs like to be lap dogs, even when they're full grown? That totally reminds me of my little boy.

His new favorite thing to do is to bite. He thinks daddy's nose is a tasty treat. He thinks mommy's chin is a tasty treat. He thinks his book is a tasty treat... he ended up with black gunk all over his face at church because of the book. I think he just realized that biting his OWN fingers hurt. He had to improvise. its getting very old though. Those chompers are sharp!

Teeth. As in more than one.

Took the picture to show off his teeth, and fell in love with the face. Enjoy.

Lord of the Dance

Watch those legs fly. He may not run, walk, or talk yet, but he sure can riverdance!

Hi People

Not much is going on right now. Colby's been a little sick, so that means he's also been a little crabby. He now has two teeth, and matching ear infections to go with each. Double ear infection after a week of teething? Not cool. Luckily he's on the meds, he's starting to feel better, and we'll be up and running with more interesting pictures. Like putting him in a bucket! Oh wait, we already did that... hmmm.

So the Mischief Begins

Colby has learned to open cupboard doors. This one has a heavy magnet to hold it shut, so when he pulled really hard, he could open it. Then he'd get so excited that he'd wave his arms really fast, and accidently slam it shut. Silly boy.

Cousins

Colby has some great cousins. These two are some of his adorable cousins, the only girl cousins he's got. They like to fawn over him, make him giggle, and kiss him. He loves visiting them! So I thought I'd include these pictures on here. And hey, if you listen really closely, you can hear my mother-in-law squeal and save these pictures immediately. Thats just how she works. ;)

This is my Colby song

This is the song that I've sung to Colby since he was just a few weeks old. He recognizes it as his song, and always smiles at it. Sometimes when I pick him up after work, he doesn't really recognize me, so I sing the song. He grins at me and makes me feel a lot better!

And it was quite cute on Mother's Day when the primary sang it. He was very confused.

Happy Mommy's Day!

Here's a pic of my squirt and me. Such a happy little boy!

This mother's day has really rocked. Daddy did so much for me, and Colby has been a doll all day. (We're going to ignore the fact that he said 'dada' for the first time...) I sat on the front room floor cross-legged this morning, with Colby in my lap. He nuzzled up into me, and I gently touched his face. I smelled his hair, and this overwhelming sense came over me. This is my little boy, my precious angel. He knew me as his mommy; he knew he was safe. Man I love that kid.

He also gave me a great mother's day present, besides the one that was from 'colby' but really purchased with money he did not earn. This is really sick, but I always joke with Colby to 'pee on dada for mommy!' or when they're playing airplane 'ten bucks if you throw up on daddy right now!' Well, sure enough, as Colby and daddy were wrestling, Colby up-chucked... in dad's mouth. I nearly died laughing, and Colby was so proud and happy, too. So Colby, thanks. And this is the ONLY year I'll accept throwing-up in your daddy's mouth as an appropriate Mother's Day Gift.

6 Month Pics

These are Colby's official 6th month pics!

He smiled and smiled and giggled and coo'ed and smiled the entire time. A very easy picture session, I must say!

p.s. Kim... still waiting for you to be available. ;)

A tooth!

(click on the picture to make it bigger!)

So last tuesday we were at my in-laws, visiting. Colby had been grumpy for awhile, because he had his shots the previous week. Well, not really 'grumpy', but vocal. If you were doing something that he didn't like you would know it. Well, he started chewing on Grandma's hands, and she exclaimed "he has a tooth!" Both Dad and I were saying, 'no way.' Sure enough, he had one poking out. Took us completely by shock. He hasn't even been drooling! And even his grumpiness wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be.
However, now its quite obvious. He is chewing everything. He gets so angry when I take junk away from him. He chews on his carseat too... NOT good. And our fingers... OUCH.

Its his favorite show too...

So I love the TV show FRIENDS. We have all the seasons on DVD, and watch them over and over. So after we had Colby, he started watching with us. He loooooooooves it. He giggles and is mesmerized by the it. And since I totally parent by guilt, I try to watch it during his nap times, you know, so he's not hooked. But he just loves it so much!

A Bath In the Sink

We don't bathe Colby in the sink very much, but when I was home alone with him, I figured it would probably be easier. First he slid all over the place, and then he splashed/dumped half the water out of the sink, and then become very intrigued with the built-in soap dispenser. But boy did he love it!
